Outrage is a good thing. It means you still care. For my daily outrage, stop by when you can.

Happy Birthday Kevbo
He would have been 49 today. I miss him so. Though he never thought birthdays were a big deal. Never stopped me though.
How About A Nice Game of Chess
So Palin quotes a right-wing nut job too radical for the John Birch Society? If this woman is a heartbeat away from the White House, I'm seriously considering moving to Ireland. Where are the women who are supposedly moving to McCain in droves?

Need A New Script
Been fascinated with brain research for some time now so this latest finding isn't surprising. It explains why I feel the way I do whenever I think about the minutes before and after Kevin's death. Some memories will never get easier with time. This proves it.

The RNC Daily Outrage - September 1
RNC - DAY 1: Top 5 Outrages
(I can neither confirm nor deny that any of these news reports are accurate. Plan accordingly.)
5. Fascist Republicans denying alcohol consumption - "That included a warning to Louisiana delegates against traditional alcohol-laced "hurricane parties" — following reports of a late-night celebration on Sunday ahead of the storm's landfall on Monday."
4. no substantive news coverage of protests - "About 2,000 protesters waving peace sign flags rallied at the state Capitol on Monday before an anti-war march to the convention site. Hundreds of police wearing bulletproof vests and carrying billy clubs stood by."
3. if it really is country first, why did it take until today for McCain to put on his "American hat?" - "the overall theme, "Country First," which is designed to reflect or highlight John McCain's record of leadership and service to America."
2. Maybe the GOP does have a direct line to God. How else could they have gotten out of this one so easily? - "The White House announced this morning that President Bush won't attend the Republican National Convention, making him the first sitting president to skip a convention since President Johnson did it in 1968."
and the number 1 RNC outrage (a two-fer actually), Karl Rove's calling Biden "doofus." - First, why is Karl Rove still walking around and not in jail? - And second, the "journalist" who asked if Biden would respond should be fired. Immediately.

Do As I Say, Part II
Well, there's one good thing for Bristol Palin. She'll get on the job training taking care of her four-month old brother with Down's Syndrome while her cheerleader mom is travelling around the country campaigning. How's that for family values?
Do As I Say, Part 1
I haven't been paying too much attention to the news this weekend but here's a threesome of outrage. Not necessarily in this order:
1) What business does John McCain have calling his VP choice his "soulmate?" Is he really just a dirty old man who needs to have beauty contestants around him at all times? (Note: rhetorical question)
2) George W. Bush and Dick Cheney will not speak tonight because they want to...appear as if they give a shit about ANYONE as a hurricane approaches NOLA? If the phrase "give me a fucking break" had not been invented, I am quite confident I would have invented it today.
3) John McCain, looking like he'd just lost his dog (oh wait, that's all the time), talks about how he's putting on his "American hat" in response to the "tragedy" of Hurricane Gustav...before the storm had made landfall in the US. First, could he have made any more political hay out of this? And why isn't he wearing his American hat all the time. It takes natural disasters and the like for him to do that?
What outrages me most? Thinking about the hundreds of thousands of voters who are actually fooled by all of this. AGAIN.
